Is a Mazda 3 a reliable car?

I owned a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 2.3l turbo a few years back. Overall the Mazda 3 is a solid vehicle. The compact engine is easy to work on for small-medium size repairs. The handling is exceptionally great. The fuel economy for the Mazda 3 is also great (around 27mpg). Aside, the hatchback cargo space provides a ton of room!
