Ticking noise from engine bay

Hi there, I have a strange ticking noise coming from the valve cover. It sounds like the lifters are raddling around. I read around that this can occur worse when running full synthetic on older engines. Not sure but if anybody has any ideas. Lemme know?

That's a myth about synthetic oil. Synthetic oil has its specific viscosity rating but unlike conventional it has extra lubricant additives which expands the life of synthetic oil and allows it to dissipate heat better. I suspect your engine could be in need of a valve set, I did make a publication for a D17A2 in a honda engine but I recommend giving my how to a read as I dig into the theory!

heresjohnny :Ahhh alright. Great explanation! I never knew it was a myth with synthetic oil
Boosted Wrenches :Thank you! Yeah I've met a lot of people who had that misconception with synthetic oil. Pennzoil and Valvoline did a publication addressing myths about synthetic oils. I recommend reading them it's very informative for sure.
