Dodge Telescopic Ball Joints

Certain Dodge trucks and jeeps with solid 4x4 front axles have telescoping ball joints. These telescoping ball joints are only used for the upper ball joint. The lower ball joint is similar to the average ball joint. If you are replacing ball joints on a Dodge or Jeep, there is a chance that you are replacing telescoping ball joints. If the ball stud of the new ball joint appears to be shorter than the ball stud of the old ball joint, then just give it a hard pull and the ball stud will slide down. Attached are pictures of what this would look like. Just wanted to put this information out because some people are not aware of this!
