How to change brake pads on motorcycle

Remove caliper 2 bolts. Slide caliper up and to the side.

Spread old brake pads with brakepad spreader tool, a flat head screw driver or by hand in rare cases. Spread open until piston(s) are backed all the way.

Remove bolt (slide pin) holding pads to caliper. Remove pads. Install new ones. If dirty with brake dust, use brake cleaner. Install slide pin to caliper going through the pads. Slide caliper with new pads into disk. Align bolt holes and screw them in. Torque to specified torque by manufacturer. Compress brake lever a few times until pads are against brake rotor. Brake lever will feel firm when fully compressed.
