How to replace 2017 gmc duramax fuel filter
1. Place a drain pan underneath the filter bowl located infront of the fuel tank on the drivers side.
2. Remove filter bowl with a 1 7/16 socket, the filter will come out with bowl
3. Remove the small o ring on the end of the shaft coming out of the filter head
4. pull the old filter from its housing and remove the large o ring from around the thread of the bowl
5. Replace both o rings with new ones supplied with new filter, and insert new filter into bowl, filter takes a little push to fully click in
6. Thread bowl with filter back up into housing and torque bowl to 25+5 Nm (as directed on the bowl) the housing is plastic so you can easily break it over tightening
7. Jump in vehicle and cycle the key back and forth from off to accessory to prime the system, youll hear a small buzzing from the pump in the tank doing its job, after afew primes fire the vehicle up and let it run for afew minutes, check for leaks at this time.
8. Last step is to reset your fuel filter life on the dash, go threw your menus and reset.
