2007 HONDA CIVIC How to change engine air filter

In this How-to, I'll show you how to change an air filter on a 2007 Honda Civic. This process should be the same on 2006-2010 models with a 1.8L engine.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Vacuum (optional)

ESTIMATED REPAIR TIME:

5 minutes

STEP 1: Open hood. Find the hood release on the kick panel located to the left of the brake pedal. Pull it to release the hood latch. Open hood.

STEP 2: Locate the air filter box, on the right side of the engine. The box is held by 4 clips. Once the clips are released, lift up and pull back to separate the box from the air intake snorkel, flip over and place aside.

This air filter was dirty, and had debris stuck to it, time for a change! If the inside of the airbox is dirty, vacuum it out before installing the new air filter.

STEP 3: Install the new filter as shown below.

STEP 4: Re-install the top airbox. Push the back of the airbox into the air intake snorkel. Fasten the clips back. Close hood. Job done!
