Introduction
I wasn’t getting any power to my 12v accessory cigarette lighter. It turned out to be a simple fuse.
Estimated Time: 5 min
Parts Required
- ATM 20A Fuse (mini fuse)
Not getting power to cigarette lighter
Pop the hood and locate the fuse box
Remove fuse box cover
Locate specific fuse
via fuse-box.info
Fuse position 34 yellow is what we need to check.
Grab the built in fuse puller
Remove the fuse
Inspect the fuse
As you can see, this fuse is clearly blown (The circuit doesn’t exist)
Comparison between new non-blown (left) and blown (right) fuse.
Install a new 20A mini fuse
Thankfully bussmann easyID makes it easy to detect blown fuses because they light up when blown.
Follow these instructions backwards and install a new fuse. Hopefully this fixed your problem as well.
We now have power!
